President's Message - 4 June 2016

Dear Members and Associates,
On September 2, 2015, we witnessed the birth of our association, the Malaysian Dental Dealers' Association (MDDA). It was established as a result of several enthusiastic and thoughtful dealers who saw the need to form an association in view of the rapidly changing and challenging business environment and for the benefit of all. It thus marks a major milestone for us.
To date we have 75 members out of a possible 90, quite an achievement given the fact that we are still at its infancy. I am confident that with your support and cooperation, MDDA will grow from strength to strength. Every member is thus expected to play a meaningful role to make the goals and objectives which we have set a reality. Broadly our visions are as follows:
1. To promote goodwill and cooperation amongst members.
2. To keep members informed of the rapidly changing and challenging business environment especially in the legal and regulatory requirement.
3. To provide interfaces and understanding between other dental and related associations.
4. To contribute positively in the growth of the dental industry in a professional, efficient and orderly manner.
A major event in 2016 will be the Malaysia International Dental Show (MIDS) to be held annually at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre. MDDA will jointly organise this event with the Malaysian Private Dental Practitioners’ Association.
The MIDS assembles 80 exhibitors with over 120 booths, showcasing the latest dental materials, products, technologies and techniques of dentistry from around the world. The event attracts more than 2,000 delegates and visitors. A scientific conferences are also held simultaneously.
Dentists will also benefit from the generous discounts, offers and promotion extended by the exhibitors during the event.
Together let us make this important event a great success.
